Amielle DeWan is the Executive Director and Co-Founder of Impact by Design, a non-profit consulting firm that partners with mission-driven organizations to help them maximize their impact. She is an expert in impact assessment and monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) design as well training design, facilitation, and human behavior change strategies. Previously, Amielle was the Senior Research and Monitoring Scientist for the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) where she was responsible for the development and implementation of monitoring and evaluation across IFAW’s programs.  Amielle has also served as the Senior Director for Conservation Research and Monitoring at Rare where she was responsible for evaluating and improving the impact of environment-focused behavior change campaigns across the globe. She serves on a number of additional professional working groups and boards including: the IUCN Species Conservation Planning Subcommittee, the Environmental Leadership Program, and the Emerging Wildlife Conservation Leaders Program.  Amielle received her PhD in Wildlife Ecology, Statistics, and GIS from Cornell University in 2008.  She has her Master’s degree in Conservation Biology and Public Policy from the State University of New York, Albany, and her BA in Biology from SUNY Binghamton.
