Sharon Pailler is a Research Director with the ASPCA. Trained as an economist, Sharon has more than 15 years of experience largely focused on environmental conservation, international development, and social science research. She is published in prominent journals including the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, Conservation Letters and World Development. Sharon previously worked as a Social Scientist at World Wildlife Fund, a Research Economist with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, a Program Manager for a humanitarian aid group in Democratic Republic of Congo, and a Peace Corps Volunteer in West Africa. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Clark University, a M.S. in Forest and Natural Resources Management and Policy from SUNY-ESF, and a Master of Public Administration from Syracuse University.
