This workshop covers a variety of topics concerning rodent (rats, guinea pigs, mice, hamster) care. The workshop will open with basic care, including housing, diet, bedding, enrichment, and socialization. We will also cover common medical issues and quarantine protocols and advanced care, such as maternity and litters, and scared and aggressive behaviors. Finally, the workshop will conclude with ideas for improving small animal adoptions and retention, including application questions, getting that great picture, and how to help the animals shine in a shelter environment.
