Lauren is the Vice President of Community Programs at the Humane Rescue Alliance (HRA), responsible for driving the strategic direction of the foster, volunteer, humane education, community cat (CatNiPP), and Help Out Partner and Engage (HOPE) programs. She was the Director of Rehoming for the Washington Humane Society (WHS) and subsequently the Humane Rescue Alliance following the merger of WHS and the Washington Animal Rescue League in 2016. Prior to joining HRA, she worked at the Humane Society of the United States, the Smithsonian Institution, and other animal welfare organizations—including in Santiago, Chile, where she discovered her passion for helping animals. Her animal welfare experience includes adoptions, public relations and online communications, shelter and outreach program development, event direction, and fundraising.
