This session will discuss cutting-edge social science research and discuss these concepts in the context of animal welfare. We will cover topics such as the effect of scarcity on mental bandwidth and client’s decision-making, the misconception that free goods and services are less valuable because they are free, and that having fewer choices facilitates decision-making. Discussing novel findings from social science research in the context of animal welfare will help to inform our procedures, policies and programs, ultimately improving our work in animal welfare.
