Sheila S. Blanchette became a Certified Parrot Behavior Consultant/Trainer in 2015.  She completed her coursework/ seminars and mentorship from the IAABC (International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants).  She has studied bird behavior with renowned animal behaviorist Lara Joseph (The Animal Behavior Center). In addition, she has been volunteering at the MSPCA - Nevins Farm (Methuen, MA) in the exotic bird section since 2010.

After gaining the necessary experience and certification, Sheila established her avian consulting business, Heart of Feathers Education & Training, LLC in 2015. Sheila continues her hands on experience by assisting other rescues (Foster Parrots, and Quaker Parrot Society) by foster birds that need some behavior assistance. This experience helps her work with clients going through the same behaviors.

​She is a graduate of Roger Williams College and received her MBA from Endicott College. Her family includes a husband, 1 lorikeet, a lovebird, a quaker parakeet and a pug.
