
Erin King is currently the study supervisor for a NIH
project assessing the impact of therapy dogs on stress for adolescents with
social anxiety. Erin also works for the Jonathon M. Tisch College of Civic life
at Tufts University as the coordinator for Cummings School of Veterinary
Medicine where she assists with service learning and community medicine
projects. Originally from Akron, Ohio, Erin attended Christopher Newport
University and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Anthropology.
After college Erin worked for the Humane Society of Summit County for several
years before moving to Massachusetts in 2015 to attend graduate school at Tufts
University. Earning her Masters of Science degree, Erin has worked on a
number of data heavy projects with topics including the link between animal
cruelty and human violence as well as USDA Animal Welfare Act Enforcement
Actions.
