
Laurie Lawless is a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant and the owner of Shelter Behavior Integrations, a consulting company that helps shelters reach their full potential in applying behavior practices to their daily operations. Laurie has had an expensive career working with dogs, including running her own behavior practice in Vermont, working on behalf of the ASPCA's Behavioral Sciences Team and HSUS overseeing the behavioral care of dogs recovering from cruelty cases. Laurie's passion in life is helping people and saving dogs and hopes she can do that for as long as she can!

(Learning, Environment, Genetics, and Self) and discuss how to use this model within the shelter to improve match-making for dogs, enrichment, handling, and more. Attendees will delve into why breed and genetics matter and how to better support both adopters and dogs in their care.
