This workshop would walk participants through the steps needed to establish an effective advocacy program to impact both local and state government. Policy and funding are key to a shelter's success. You need to be a part of creating the solutions so that you don't end up handling a problem that was put in place without any input. The workshop will talk about grassroots and grasstops organizing, developing a compelling message, getting your board, volunteers, donors and supporters involved and how to "lobby."
