Have you ever wondered who invented the graphic novel? Bishop Odo of Bayeux, shortly after 1066! He commissioned an embroidered work depicting William the Bastard conquering Britain. Measuring at 70 meters long (the length of three swimming pools!), it's cartoon style in vivid colors with words to tell a story could conceivable be the first graphic novel ever written...or stitched. Join us as we explore how words and cartoon drawings embroidered on linen depict a history every bit as exciting as a modern day comic book or graphic novel.
