Arlene Henriques

Traveler/Linguist
USS ANTARES - 10 FWD
Participates in 1 Session

Arlene Henriques has an Associate of Arts and Sciences from Walla Walla Community College but her real passion is in widening cultural awareness in the Tri-Cities. She has studied Japanese, Chinese, French, German, Spanish, Egyptian Hieroglyphs, Koine Greek, Sinhalese, American Sign Language, and is currently studying Sumerian and Babylonian Akkadian Cuneiform, and Klingon. She loves learning about everything and has taken part in many events and clubs in the area. Her interests, however, are not just local: she has extended her travels to cover Canada, Asia, and Europe. In 2020 she was headed to Andalusia, Spain, to study the intersectionality of Christianity, Judaism and Islam. Covid-19 canceled that! She has been a member of The Realms of Avalon, The Kingdoms of Chivalry, Phi Theta Kappa, ASCBC Leadership Council, and local Japanese, Anthropology, Art, History, and Astronomy Clubs. She is currently the Ship’s Counselor of the USS Antares and a member of the Beartooth Aikido. She designs costumes (once dressing a KNDU Newscaster as a Klingon at Radcon in 15 minutes flat for Live TV), reads a lot of books, takes far too many photographs of life, enjoys sewing, cross stitching, board and video games, arts and crafts, Astronomy, Egyptology, attending cons, currently taking classes in the Voices of Ancient Egypt Scribal School and at UChicago Institute for the Study of Ancient Cultures, JCCC Online, and absolutely loves traveling!
