I have a PhD in physics, specializing in relativistic astrophysics. I've wrapped up 21 years on the LIGO project, which made the first direct detection of gravitational waves from a binary black hole merger in 2015. As of 2022, 90 detection candidates from merging black holes and/or neutron stars have been published with a 1000+  colleagues. With LIGO, I primarily worked on computing and data analysis. I've also taught quantum mechanics and published papers on quantum field theory in curved space. I'm now writing sci-fi, and my novel, Finding the Elsewhere, is available from Amazon. It uses entangled gravitinos for FTL comms, but it's really about how two people can find each other when everything in the universe is against them. I'm interested in characters and the human condition, and I like to say my stories contain plenty of heart and plenty of science.
