David Sherrill, known online as DaveRuinsArt was born in rural Texas. A self taught artist, he played in bands, performed standup comedy, and eventually owned a vintage store in Canton, Ohio where he began adding pop culture icons to vintage landscape paintings. His painting ‘R2 Versus The Empire’ found its way to Newsweek.com, My Modern Met and the little TVs at the gas station. His work has since has been lauded by James Gunn, Patton Oswalt, David Ayer, John Green, Belinda Carlisle, MC Chris, Bert Kreischer, The Albert Einstein estate…and has even been commissar by Lee Towersy, the builder of R2D2 for the Force Awakens.
