We have come full circle, from Lamarckian inheritance of acquired traits, to Mendel, and now back again to Lamarckian inheritance of apparently acquired traits through epigenetics. I will discuss issues in contemporary genetics and the implications they have for health, for epidemiology and for the development of plant and animal species that are resistant to the issues of climate change.
