What is Medieval Combat? What equipment do you need? Why do we do this? All these questions and more will be explored as we ramp up to the full combat demonstration in the afternoon.
Come join Clan Volos in the courtyard and sit by the fire as we discuss the development of arms and armour through the ages. Learn if leather armor is actually as stealthy as those rulebooks say and why some designs of arms and armour persisted for centuries and others vanished almost immediately.
Was the medieval knight a symbol of hope or one of tyranny? I don’t know the answer for sure, but history is absolutely chalk full of peasants picking fights with the heavily armoured warriors. Come learn how under-armed, un-armoured peasants could possibly win.
So you want to be a medieval warrior. You’ve signed up for the next crusade, but you aren’t sure what weapon you’ll need, or even what equipment you’d be allowed to carry. Come sit around a fire and join us for a discussion on Medieval equipment.
Gather around as we kill ourselves for your enjoyment. Armoured combatants will do their best the dispatch their foes and earn your adoration. We’ll explore techniques, put fighters through competitions, and perform unscripted, full contact combat inspired by the equipment and techniques of a bygone era.
After the roar of the crowd has died, and the fighters are in recovery, come on in to the courtyard and ask your favorite performer questions. Fighters are always happy to pose for pictures or show off pieces of their armour. If you don’t believe me, come ask anyway!

When learning a new piece, there is an ex...
After the fire show, huddle near the fires and listen in to the not-so-family-friendly medieval stories adults told to explain exactly why that village up the way is actually abandoned (it couldn’t possibly be famine or illness) or why your daughter is acting a little strangely. The myths and legends explored in this panel may not be suitable for children.
