Enter virtual roomThe Office of STEM Engagement and the Next Gen STEM program is proud to announce the development of two exciting new activities for elementary students specifically focused on aeronautics and engineering. Participants will learn about the power of song, movement, and dance in teaching the parts of a plane to young students with Our Airplane Adventure. For third through fifth-grade students, educators will walk away with an activity that engages students in an active pros and cons “debate” of what is most important when planning a new design for an airplane with the Prioritize Your Flight activity. Participants in this session will also explore tips on how to use shared resources to create a well-rounded learning experience for students, incorporating both cross-curricular literacy concepts and scientific reasoning skills. Additionally, they will learn how to implement culturally responsive strategies for engaging and supporting students from diverse backgrounds and environments.
