Teon Edwards is a curriculum developer and tech designer at TERC, a not-for-profit STEM education R&D company. For over 20 years, she has developed numerous science and computational thinking curricula, tools, and games, working on such projects as Astrobiology: The Search for Life in the Universe— a full-year, highly integrated high school course addressing the science of life elsewhere, Investigating Astronomy—a modular, high school astronomy curriculum, Windows on Earth—a museum exhibit that engages visitors in viewing Earth from the perspective of an astronaut, EarthKAM—a NASA education program involving students in taking and exploring their own images of Earth from space, NASA Student Involvement Program—a series of inquiry-based science competitions for K-12, and most recently, UniVRsal Access: Broadening Participation in Informal STEM Learning for Autistic Learners and Others through Virtual Reality—an NSF-funded project co-designing, developing, and researching the astrobiology VR experience Europa Prime, which engages a broad audience, including neurodivergent learners and other learners with sensory, attention, and social differences, in STEM concepts.
