
Julie Edstrom serves as the product owner of NASA Engages and supports the NASA Space Grant team. She began her career at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center in 2003 supporting education activities as a contractor. She later became a co-op, transitioning to civil service in 2010. Throughout her NASA tenure, Julie has enjoyed working in various capacities including managing the NASA Student Launch competition, the NASA Human Exploration Rover Challenge, and supervising the Pathways Intern Program at Marshall. In all of these roles, Julie is most passionate about supporting students in STEM and helping future NASA employees find their lifelong career.
Julie graduated from Auburn University with a B.S. in Elementary Education in 1997, and from Florida Institute of Technology with a M.S. in Human Resources Management in 2011. She later graduated from Capella University with a PhD in Industrial and Organizational Psychology in 2019. Prior to her NASA career, Julie was a fifth-grade math teacher for six years and a cheer coach.
Julie enjoys spending time with her new-ish husband, travelling the world on cruise ships, and snuggling with her three feline fur babies.
