In this engaging and informative session, participants will embark on a journey through the fascinating world of ion thruster propulsion technology. We will delve into its historical development, current applications, and exciting potential for the future of space exploration. To deepen understanding, participants will actively engage in an exhilarating hands-on activity: designing and constructing their own self-propelled spacecraft. The ultimate challenge is to create a vessel capable of vertical ascent "to space" and smooth horizontal transport "through space," simulating the critical task of transporting an astronaut as far as possible across the cosmos.
