Abstract: This session offers a step-by-step guide on how to write an impactful decision-based teaching case for business education to aid in the creation of resources essential for an academic curriculum. We will discuss the basics about how your case and teaching note within any discipline can be prepared and presented for a successful submission to publishers. Our focus will be on how to write an engaging business case that will pique students’ interests, and on the core elements of writing a decision-based cases such as interviews, research, and case testing. In addition, we will cover different types of cases, how to get started, how to research primary and secondary cases, how to write the case and teaching note, and how to get your case published. Finally, we will discuss the contributions and impact case writing makes in management education. This talk is applicable for both novice case writers endeavouring to succeed in the case writing process, as well as for experienced case researchers wishing to enrich their practice and author further publications.
