
Ellen Weinberg Dreyfus
Ellen Weinberg Dreyfus (HUC-JIR, NY '79) is Rabbi Emerita of Shir Tikvah in Homewood, IL. She is a past-president of the CCAR, and was the first woman to be president of the Chicago Board of Rabbis. She was a founder and past-president of the Women's Rabbinic Network, has served on numerous national boards and commissions, and has lectured around the world. She is a Senior Rabbinic Fellow of the Shalom Hartman Institute. She currently chairs the CCAR Task Force on the Experience of Women in the Rabbinate. She is married to James N. Dreyfus, MD, a rheumatologist practicing in Munster, IN. They have three grown children and six amazing grandchildren.
