Dr. Messer is a clinical psychologist and Associate Professor at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. As the training director of the Mayerson Center for Safe & Healthy Children, her mission is to conduct research and disseminate evidence-based treatments for maternal depression, families exposed to trauma, and children in foster care. Dr. Messer has conducted over 200 workshops locally, nationally and internationally to clinicians in evidenced-based trauma treatments. She is a certified trainer for Parent-Child Interaction Therapy International, and she co-developed and conducts research on Child Adult Relationship Enhancement™, a training to assist adults in improving relationships and managing challenging behaviors. She has trained and provided ongoing consultation to home-based therapists using In-Home Cognitive Behavior Therapy through the nationally-recognized Moving Beyond Depression™ program, developed at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.
