Chad Martin

Chad Martin is the Director of the Northeast Region for the Israel Ministry of Tourism.  After more than ten years of experience working in the Israeli tourism industry, in May 2016 he was appointed as the first ever American to hold his position.

Martin was born and raised in Boardman, Ohio and he holds a BA in Political Science and Hebrew from The Ohio State University.  He would say that he has been selling Israel ever since his first trip in 1999 on a BBYO teen tour.  However, there is no doubt that his bar mitzvah and confirmation from a joint Reform – Conservative Jewish education program served as an inspiration to embark on this journey.

Since moving to New York in the fall of 2005, Martin has held multiple positions in Israeli tourism industry including six years with Israeli tour operators and, four years as the director of sales in North America for the Inbal Jerusalem Hotel.  In these roles, he worked with numerous organizations (including the CCAR) and communities as well as industry actors.  Now with the Ministry of Tourism, he is committed to utilizing his experience to develop, inspire and maximize travel to Israel from North America.
