The summer of 2017 will mark the 31st summer that Bobby Harris has served as a Camp Director for the Jewish communities in New York, Philadelphia— and the last 25 with URJ Camp Coleman in Cleveland, GA. Bobby has made a strong contribution to the field of Jewish camping having been involved with the creation of the URJ’s Olim Fellowship for counselors, the 6 Points Sports Academy, and the Lech Lecha Fellowship for Israeli shlichim. Bobby was also the first camp director to hire members of the Ugandan Jewish community to work in a summer camp. Having never forgotten the prime importance of the camper-counselor bond, Bobby also founded J-Jolt (Jewish journey of a LifeTime) a unique mentoring program. When he is not doing any of the above, walking his dog Willie, cheering heartily for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and looking for another story to tell.
