Geoffrey ‘Peter’ Atack has worked with the CBE for 10 years as a division I/II/III Teacher, Learning Leader, and Specialist. After completing a Master’s of Education in Special Education with a Concentration in the Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH), he worked as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and Learning Leader at two specialized System class settings for students with hearing loss. He is currently the DHH Specialist, and is passionate about supporting the 300+ students with hearing loss throughout the CBE, promoting access to language for all through auditory and/or visual pathways. He is a second time Calgary City Teachers’ Convention presenter, and is excited to share his passion for language and learning through play. When not teaching, Peter enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, traveling, music, and spending time in the great outdoors.
