CPD Credits and Evaluation
Royal College Accreditation Information (MOC credits)
Section 1 – Group Learning
This event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and approved by the Canadian Ophthalmological Society (COS). You may claim a maximum of 31 hours (credits are automatically calculated).
Through an agreement between the American Medical Association (AMA) and the RCPSC, the 2025 COS Annual Meeting, as a live educational activity, qualifies for AMA PRA category 1 credits.
Live educational activities, occurring in Canada, recognized by the RCPSC as Accredited Group Learning Activities (Section 1) are deemed by the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS) eligible for ECMEC.
Section 2 - Individual Learning
Learning from ePosters may be claimed as Education content review (reading), under Section 2 of the MOC Program as defined by the RCPSC. You may claim 0.5 credits per hour.
Section 3 – Simulation and Self-Assessment Programs
The 2025 COS Annual Meeting will offer 7 Surgical Skill Transfer Courses (STC) and 6 Self-Assessment Programs (SAP).
These are Accredited Feedback and Improvement activities (Section 3) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and approved by the Canadian Ophthalmological Society (COS). Participants can claim a maximum of 1.5 hours for each course (credits are automatically calculated).
Allied Health Information
CSORN
A certificate of participation provided in the Canadian Society of Ophthalmic Registered Nurses (CSORN) session. CSORN doesn’t have an accrediting body. The 2025 COS Annual Meeting Certificate may also function to claim credits.
CSOMP
The Canadian Society of Ophthalmic Medical Personnel (CSOMP) Annual Education Day 2025 Program has been approved for 6.0 "A" IJCAHPO CE credits.
TCOS
The TCOS Workshop on Thursday, June 19 has been approved for 3.2 core, 0 non core credits. The TCOS Scientific Session on Sunday, June 22 has been approved for 5.9 core, 0 non core credits. TCOS will be issuing CE reporting forms at each session. Forms issued by COS will NOT be accepted for CE reporting.
CPD Evaluation
Evaluation is a required component of the Royal College MOC Program.
