Lynn Hassman is a clinician-scientist and uveitis specialist at the University of Colorado, where her practice is focused primarily on the medical management of uveitis. Dr. Hassman studied immunology and infectious diseases as an MD/PhD trainee at the University of Virginia. She completed ophthalmology residency training at the Flaum Eye Institute in Rochester, New York, followed by uveitis training at the Moran Eye Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The goals of her current research are to understand how the mechanisms that govern ocular inflammation differ between patients and, ultimately, to use this knowledge to develop a precision medicine approach to uveitis therapy. To these ends, her lab uses advanced bioinformatics and genomic techniques to identify key pathogenic molecules and cell types driving disease. Her research relies on strong partnerships with her patients, as well as a network of clinical and research collaborators with complementary expertise united in a common purpose to cure uveitis.
