Cataract surgery has become an increasingly safe and effective procedure for patients with an excellent risk/benefit profile. For both cataract surgeons and patients alike, attention has now turned to improved refractive results. This course will help the cataract surgeon improve preoperative planning by better understanding the latest advances in biometry and the latest IOL formulae. The course will also introduce the newest advanced technology intraocular lens implants and describe appropriate patient selection.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Describe new advances in preoperative biometry measurements
  • Describe new advances in preoperative and intraoperative intraocular lens calculations and apply them to clinical practice
  • Describe new advances in intraocular lens implant technology and integrate their use with appropriate patient selection
