Ann Whelan is currently the clinical manager at the Kensington Vision and Research Centre, a division of the Kensington Eye Institute that is affiliated with the University of Toronto.  Ann completed her BSc with a specialization in Ophthalmic Medical Technology at the University of Ottawa in 2011. She then worked at the Ottawa Eye Institute and Focus Eye Centre before relocating to Toronto in 2012 where she joined the Kensington Eye Institute and then the Kensington Vision and Research Centre. She is currently doing her MSc in Health Services Research at the University of Toronto.

She has an interest in health policy, which is relevant to her MSc thesis on the public private mix of the medical laboratory sector. She has participated in medical student teaching sessions and resident training on biometry instruments.
