Dr. Warrian completed his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Western Ontario’s Ivey Eye Institute. His fellowship training includes a clinical research fellowship in glaucoma at Wills Eye Hospital and two years of vitreoretinal surgical fellowship at the University of Calgary. Following his training in Calgary, he completed additional training at the University of Miami’s Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Florida focused on complex pan-segment surgery and vitreoretinal diseases. 

He has been extensively involved in ophthalmic surgery teaching of vitreoretinal fellows & residents and has received faculty of medicine teaching awards for education. Currently he serves as the standing examiner for surgical simulation for ophthalmic surgery and has been a microsurgical surgery instructor for the Department of Surgery at the University of Calgary for the past five years.

He has published original research in many peer reviewed journals and has presented original research at many national and international conferences. He continues to serve as an invited reviewer for many ophthalmology journals and has been recognized by the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) as a Top Reviewer by the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s lead journal Ophthalmology.

He currently is in full time practice in Calgary Alberta, performing cataract surgery, vitreoretinal surgery and combined complex pan-segment surgery at Alberta Health Services’ (AHS) Rockyview General Hospital and Non-Hospital Surgical AHS-Contracted Facilities.
