Dominique Geoffrion is pursuing her medical degree (MDCM) at McGill University and will graduate in 2023. As part of McGill's MD-PhD program, she obtained in 2021 her PhD degree in Experimental Surgery & Ophthalmology at McGill University. Dominique Geoffrion has served as Board member of Orbis Canada since 2021.

Dominique Geoffrion received her Honors Bachelor's degree in Biomedical sciences from the Université de Montréal in 2017. Under the joint supervision of Dr. Mona Harissi-Dagher at the Department of Ophthalmology of the Centre hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal (CHUM) and Dr. Robert K. Koenekoop at the Department of Ophthalmology at McGill University, her PhD research has improved the surgical management and the understanding of mechanisms of glaucoma following Boston keratoprosthesis surgery, namely with the novel identification of tear film cytokines that contribute to glaucoma years later.

Dominique Geoffrion has completed extensive research in the field of molecular biology, genetics, and ophthalmology, specifically on the Boston keratoprosthesis. She has published several articles and also acts as a reviewer for ophthalmology journals. She has won several scholarships and awards for her research endeavours and leadership in the community. 

Dominique Geoffrion is dedicated to global ophthalmology. She is founder and president of the Orbis Future Vision Leaders program, a new Orbis Canada initiative to unite students and residents in the fight against avoidable blindness.
