Dominique Geoffrion, MDCM, PhD

Dr. Dominique Geoffrion is an Ophthalmology resident at the Université de Montréal. She holds a medical degree and a PhD in Experimental Surgery from McGill University, as well as an Honor's Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences.

Her prior research in molecular biology, cancer genetics and ophthalmology has contributed to several publications. Her PhD research focused on advancing glaucoma management following Boston keratoprosthesis type 1 surgery. She also serves as an ad hoc reviewer for ophthalmology journals.

Dr. Geoffrion has received several scholarships and awards, including the 2024 Artemis Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), the Ron Jans Clinical Cornea Research Award, and the 2023 ASCRS Resident Excellence Award. She obtained several grants from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and the Quebec Health Research Funds (FRQS). A Board member of Orbis Canada since 2021, she participated in the Orbis Flying Eye Hospital program in Bangladesh in 2024. She also founded the Orbis Future Vision Leaders program to unite students and residents in combating avoidable blindness.
