Dr. Yomna Abdelrahman is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Armed Forces University Munich. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Stuttgart in Germany where she explored the usage of thermal imaging to amplify human perception, with the focus on amplifying how users' cognitive load is perceived. During her Ph.D. studies, she explored thermal imaging to build novel interactive systems. Her work has been published in conference papers and journals such as CHI and IMWUT. Her research was recognized by the community and received the best paper award at MUM2015/2018 and an honorable mention at CHI2017. She was awarded the Melbourne School of Engineering Fellows Grant during her Social NUI Microsoft internship. She did her master's thesis in the hciLab with the work titled "Thermal Imaging for Interactive Systems," which was published in CHI2014. During her undergraduate studies at the German University in Cairo, she was part of the team of RoboCup 2010, which won first place in the logistics league. Her current research focuses on utilizing the developed models and deploying them in various application scenarios to assist users to process information and better assign attention capacities. In her current position in the Usable Security and Privacy Group, she aims to deploy her models in the context of usable security.
