Jan is a researcher at imec-smit-vub, a research centre in Brussels focusing on the interaction of technology with society. He is part of the Smart City Unit, where he works on projects related to IoT and Smart City governance. His research involves topics on Sustainability and Smart Cities, specifically on the use of monitoring frameworks in Smart and Sustainable Cities. In the past he has been involved in Smart City user research. Currently he is involved in multiple EU funded large scale pilots.
