LEAR deBESSONET is a Tony-nominated director and the Artistic Director of Encores! at New York City Center. She directed Into the Woods on Broadway following its engagement at Encores! Other recent directing includes Oliver! (Encores), Hercules (Disney Theatrical Group), and Annie Live! for NBC. She founded the acclaimed Public Works program at the Public Theater, where she served as resident director for 8 seasons directing Shakespeare and musicals.
