Steve Boockvor

Participates in 1 Session
Veteran Steve Boockvor zeroed in on the "new" dancer, Denise, in her first show, The Rothschilds (his 10th). Steve left the Rothschilds company immediately after opening in New York to do Follies, however, was highly instrumental in helping Denise nail the tap audition step from the "Mirror" number which Michael Bennett planned to use in NYC for the mandatory Equity "swing" auditions. Denise went on to book the "Superstar" film in Israel -- while Steve went to LA with the Follies Company. Upon their closing in LA, Steve went to Israel, auditioned for Rob Iscove, choreographer, in a local bar, got hired on the film and then proposed marriage in the Negev Desert.

It was upon their return to the states and the gypsy world of Broadway that Denise, by then doing the original Pippin, and Steve sat in on the all-night talks with Michael Bennett where they ultimately became the prototypes for "Al" and "Kristine" in A Chorus Line. Steve continued working on Broadway in a variety of shows including The Lieutenant, Musical Jubilee, Smile & others until he ultimately hit Working, receiving a Tony Nomination. Denise found herself in the world of daytime dramas creating Katie Parker on "The Guiding Light," producing two children and now both are looking forward to being called Grandma & Grandpa next year. www.denisepence.com, www.steveboockvor.com @DenisePence @HistoryAliveSB
