Darren Criss
Actor, musician, and Emmy-nominated songwriter Darren Criss just finished his run with the national tour of the 2014 Tony Award winning Best Musical Revival, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, as well as hosting duties for NBC’s “Hairspray Live.” Before his breakout role as Blaine Anderson on Fox's Emmy and Golden Globe Award‐winning series “Glee,” Darren got his first break from YouTube, via the internet cult hit A Very Potter Musical, in which he starred and wrote songs for in 2009. The popularity of that show spawned his co-founding of StarKid Productions, a Chicago-based theatre company whose works have spurred other viral hits, multiple Billboard charting cast albums, and sold-out national tours. Criss is also the founder of NYC’s first showtunes music festival, Elsie Fest, which will be in its third year in 2017. Broadway credits include: Hedwig and the Angry Inch, How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying. Off-Broadway: White Rabbit Red Rabbit. Film/TV: “American Horror Story: Hotel,” “Web Therapy,” “Cold Case,” “Eastwick,” “Six by Sondheim,” “Girl Most Likely,” “Smitten.” Has also lent his silly voice to Studio Ghibli’s “The Tale of Princess Kaguya” & “The Wind Rises,” as well as TV’s “Transformers: Robots in Disguise,” “The Cleveland Show,” “Archer,” “Stan Lee’s Mighty 7.” Songwriting credits include A Very Potter Musical, Me & My Dick, A Very Potter Sequel, Starship (debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top Cast Album) and “Glee” (Emmy nominated for Outstanding Original Music & Lyrics for his song, “This Time”). Darren is a San Francisco native and a proud graduate of the University of Michigan (BFA in Theater Performance). Go Blue!
