Robert Viagas is founder of Playbill.com and currently serves as managing editor. He is author, co-author or editor of 19 books on the performing arts, notably the Playbill Broadway Yearbook series, which he also founded. He was chosen by the original cast of A Chorus Line to tell their story in On the Line: The Creation of A Chorus Line, and by the creators of The Fantasticks to tell their story in The Amazing Story of The Fantasticks. Other books include The Backstage Guide to Broadway and I'm the Greatest Star!, which was adapted as a stage musical at Hofstra University. Viagas was called "encyclopedic" on theatre by the New York Times and "ever-informative" by the Toronto Star. He is the Vera Roberts Fellow of Theatre at Hunter University.
