After making his professional acting debut in Merrily We Roll Along, David Cady went on to appear as Motel the Tailor opposite Herschel Bernardi and as Peter Van Daan in the off-Broadway chamber opera Yours, Anne. He left acting in the mid-1980s to pursue a career in casting. Credits include the original "Dirty Dancing," "Ironweed" and Disney’s "Enchanted." For the stage he co-cast Michael John LaChiusa’s The Petrified Prince for the Public Theater and the world premiere of Whistle Down the Wind, both directed by Harold Prince. He was also a commercial casting director for 26 years. He currently teaches commercial and musical theatre technique at many NY venues, including NYU, Pace University and AMDA.
