Sam Carner is a New York-based lyricist and bookwriter. Half of the acclaimed team Carner & Gregor, his songs have become cabaret and concert mainstays, have been performed on all seven continents (including Antarctica), and have been garnered 13 MAC Award nominations. He won the Richard Rodgers Award, the $100,000 Kleban Prize, and the John Wallowitch Award for songwriters under 40. Sam’s musical ISLAND SONG has had over 50 productions internationally, and his musical UNLOCK’D has played Off-Broadway and regionally. He has taught at Yale, NYU, Temple University, and currently directs the Musical Creators’ Institute in New York City.
