Richard C. Denney III, Theater Manager of The Public Theater, graduated from East Carolina University with a BFA in Musical Theater performance. Post-graduation he worked as a teacher's assistant and respite manager for individuals with autism and cerebral palsy, in-between auditions and working regionally. After moving to Las Vegas in 2006 he made the jump to theater and ticket office management while working at The Mirage Resort and Casino. In 2009 Richard returned to the East Coast where he spent almost two years with the State Theatre in New Brunswick, NJ before joining The Public Theater in 2011 as their Theater Manager where he has worked to improve accessibility for Shakespeare in the Park as well as at their home on Lafayette and Astor Place.
