Chris Herzberger currently serves as Vice President, Live Theatricals at Universal Pictures. In this role, he oversees the day-to-day operation and long-term growth initiatives of the studio’s live stage division, Universal Stage Productions. Universal's credits include a valuable portfolio of Broadway musicals, including the worldwide phenomenon Wicked, the Tony Award-winning adaptation of Billy Elliot, the Tony-nominated production of Bring It On: The Musical, and the Broadway premiere of Holiday Inn - The New Irving Berlin Musical with the Roundabout Theatre Company. Reporting to the President of Universal Pictures and Chairman of NBC Entertainment, Chris is responsible for identifying key Universal properties worthy of theatrical adaptation and assembling top creative talent to develop them for the stage. In addition, he oversees the studio’s co-productions with award-winning theatre producers, partnerships with esteemed regional theatres, and the strategic licensing of Universal library titles to third-parties. A proud Chicago native, Chris began his career as an assistant to Oscar-nominated filmmaker Gary Ross ("Seabiscuit", "The Hunger Games"), attended Biola University as a film major, and has been at Universal since September 2010.
