Russ Kaplan is one of the creators of In Transit, which received eleven award nominations for its 2010 Off-Broadway production (including Lucille Lortel, Drama Desk, Drama League, and Outer Critics Circle nominations). Other work with In Transit co-author Sara Wordsworth includes Dear Albert Einstein (New York City Children's Theater; Off-Broadway Alliance nominee for “Best Family Show”), Shortstack (York Theatre’s 4@15 series), Vows (Marymount Manhattan College), High School Confidential (published by Dramatic Publishing), and the upcoming rock musical Minnesota. He has composed instrumental scores for Prospect Theatre Company and Third Rail Projects. His debut jazz album, “The Ulysses Cycle,” was recently released on Ropeadope Records. He holds a BFA in Drama from Carnegie Mellon University, where he was a founding member of the a cappella group the Sound Bytes. Member Dramatists Guild of America, Inc.
