"Ms. Lovejoy’s successful career as an actor (teacher, writer, coach, director) spans decades and disciplines. Playing an array of murderous mothers, grieving widows, cops, doctors, detectives, serial killers and lawyers on television, suffering untimely deaths including but not limited to her head exploding, has supported her theatre work. On Broadway: Nora Ephron’s Lucky Guy with Tom Hanks directed by George C. Wolfe, John Guare’s Six Degrees of Separation (Lincoln Center & First National Tour), Getting and Spending (Helen Hayes), The Gathering (Cort). Off-Broadway: Li'l Bit in Paula Vogel’s Pulitzer Prize winning How I Learned to Drive, (Original Vineyard Theatre & Arena Stage) (Helen Hayes nomination), A Midsummer Night's Dream, Machinal (Public); Henry IV (directed by Joseph Papp). Regional credits include Tony Kushner’s new iteration of The Intelligent Homosexual’s Guide to Capitalism and Socialism with a Key to the Scriptures (Berkeley Rep) Macbeth, Comedy of Errors, The Sisters Rosensweig (Old Globe), Heartbreak House (Huntington) and James Still’s The House That Jack Built (IRT).
