Sara Wordsworth is a lyricist, librettist, writer, performer, and teaching artist, represented on Broadway this season with the a cappella musical In Transit. Her work in New York Theatre has been nominated for Drama Desk, Drama League, Outer Critics Circle, Off-Broadway Alliance & Lucille Lortel Awards, and she is the recipient of the BMI Jerry Harrington Award for Outstanding Creative Achievement in Musical Theatre Writing (Librettist), the Edgerton Foundation New American Play Award, and residencies at the Eugene O’Neill National Musical Theatre Conference and CAP21. Writing credits also include the the published family musicals Dear Albert Einstein and High School Confidential (Dramatic Publishing), a collection of four 20-minute musicals, Shortstack, and the alternative rock musical Minnesota. She has also developed content for Walt Disney Imagineering Creative Entertainment, as well as various regional theaters, venues, educational institutions, recordings, publications, and charities. Performances include work with the Roundabout Theatre Company, Walt Disney Animation Studios (Frozen), Disney Creative Entertainment, and many others. In addition to writing and performing, Sara has served as a teaching artist for several colleges and universities. She sits on the Steering Committee for the Tony-honored BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Writing Workshop and is a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association, The Dramatists Guild of America, Inc., and is a BMI Affiliate Artist. She lives in New York City with her husband and young daughter.
