An award-winning Canadian producer, Michael Rubinoff provided Sankoff and Hein with the idea to musicalize Come From Away. In 2011 he launched the Canadian Music Theatre Project (CMTP), an international incubator for the development of new musicals at Canada’s Sheridan College, where he produced and developed the first workshops of Come From Away. He is the creative consultant and a producer of the Broadway and Canadian productions. He is Sheridan’s Associate Dean of Visual and Performing Arts and will formally assume the inaugural position of Producing Artistic Director of the CMTP on February 1.
