Becca Boronat (MV, CAWA)

Becca dedicates her life to ensuring all animals are provided with the 5 Domains Model of Animal Welfare and are not at risk of unnecessary euthanasia. She shares her passion, data-driven, and solution-oriented expertise with shelters and rescues by developing, implementing, empowering, and coaching operations to build and maintain Humane and Lifesaving Communities. She joined Charleston Animal Society in 2017, and the Board of the Association of Shelter Veterinarians in 2023. Becca has multicultural international veterinary and executive experience and has lived and worked in Brazil, Europe, and the US, and has over 20 years of experience in veterinary medicine, animal welfare, animal sheltering, coaching, and mentoring. She is a veterinarian, certified animal welfare administrator, animal control and animal cruelty investigator.
