Jason Andrew Bond
I’ve dreamed of success as a writer since I was eleven years old. I thought sales would be the ultimate fulfillment of that success. Yet, while it’s nice to have done well, nothing compares to the amazing experiences I’ve had and the wonderful
people I’ve met as a result of writing. From suiting up in Kendōgu in Kyoto, Japan and sparring (more accurately, getting
smacked repeatedly by) a man who took 4th in Japan in Kendo, to floating fifty feet underwater staring into the eyes of a wolf
eel in the Puget Sound in January, I’ve done things I never would have if I hadn’t chosen to dedicate myself to writing.
I’ve trained in Jeet Kune Do, Tae Kwon Do, Shudokan Karate, Kobuto, Goshin Jutsu, Judo, Muay Thai, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. It’s become a real source for me, and as with writing, the friendships I’ve made and the incredible people I’ve been able to work with – from instructors one person away from Bruce Lee to a former Olympic coach – have transformed my worldview.
I grew up in Oregon and now live in Washington with my son and fiancée. I have a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Oregon and an MBA from the University of Colorado.
