Why does Lady Bright, whose speed is much faster than light, come back on the previous night? The answer is the "Lorentz Transformation," the mathematical expression of a natural law discovered toward the end of the 19th century. We'll go through an example, step by step (you may follow along with your calculator) that sends her out and back again. Then we'll discuss its implications for relevance in science fiction.
