Twila Schneider is Communications & Outreach Specialist in NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS) Program, building NASA’s rocket for returning humans to deep space and eventually to Mars.

Ms. Schneider holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry and Mathematics from Auburn University (Alabama), a Master’s Degree in Mathematics from Troy University (Alabama), and an Educational Specialist Degree in Mathematics from Troy University (Alabama). She taught high school mathematics for 14 years prior to starting at Marshall Space Flight Center in 2000.

During her tenure at NASA, Ms. Schneider has developed many classroom activities, conducted numerous workshops for students and teachers, coordinated and worked a variety outreach events both nationally and internationally, won multiple NASA awards, and supervised the research / work of several student, high school and collegiate, interns.
