Sara Mitchell leads the Astrophysics Education Team at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. For the past 16 years, she has served as a “translator” between Goddard’s scientists and educational and public audiences, focusing especially on creating high-quality learning experiences for families. Sara co-founded the NASA Family Science Night program in 2006, and has directed its development and dissemination since 2013. She has presented over 150 workshops, predominantly at national conferences for educators.
